New HEROINE Season!

Hi heroine,

How are you doing and feeling? Big question, I know.

I hope you have been able to stay somewhat grounded during these historical, revolutionary times. It’s been a few months since you’ve heard from the HEROINE podcast. I have personally needed to take some time off to take care of myself during quarantine, work on the publication of my upcoming book, and step up in my anti-racism (earlier this morning, you may have seen my statement about Black Lives Matter – I never send two emails in one day, but these unprecedented times called for an exception to that rule! Please know that I respect your inbox, and I will typically be sending one email per week).

Today, I’m happy to announce that the HEROINE season is kicking off. Finally! Yay! My intention with these interviews are to activate, touch, and inspire you on a deep level.

I honestly have the BEST season in HEROINE’s nine-season history ready for you.

We’ll hear from Shan Boodram – sex educator, influencer, and dating expert – who shares about her journey with pleasure. “The only reason you should be engaging in sexuality is because it’s something for you,” Shan tells me in our very juicy conversation.

We’ll also hear from Coco & Breezy Dotson, twin eyewear designers who started their entrepreneurial journey at age 18. “Everything Coco & I have done, we’ve done it with no resources...the stories we watch on the news about black families, that’s our family,” they share with me in their incredible story of both resilience and creativity.

And by far, one of my favorite interviews this season is with Amy Yeung and her story of reconnecting with her roots and ancestry. “I remember my first time of going to one of the boarding schools on the Navajo reservation,” Amy shares, “I got so overwhelmed when I got there... to finally be home.” Lots of tears in that episode.

Here’s the full line-up:

  • Amy Yeung | Navajo Fashion Designer & Activist

  • Rana el Kaliouby, PhD | Egyptian-American Computer Scientist

  • Elise Loehnen | Chief Content Officer at GOOP

  • Coco & Breezy | Twin Designers & Founders of Coco and Breezy Eyewear

  • Brit Morin | Founder & CEO of Brit+Co

  • Randi Zuckerberg | Founder & CEO of Zuckerberg Media

  • Krista Williams & Lindsey Simcik | Hosts of the Almost 30 Podcast

  • Sophia Amoruso | Founder & CEO of Girlboss

  • Monica Padman | Actress & Co-host of the Armchair Expert Podcast

  • Shan Boodram | Sex Educator & Dating Expert

  • Gretchen Rubin | Bestselling Author & Happiness Expert

  • Byron Katie | Spiritual Teacher

  • Martha Beck, PhD | Bestselling Author & Life Coach

WOW. So many badasses. Can’t wait to share these conversations with you!

Also, during this season, I will be featuring highlights of my past interviews with Black women who have been on the podcast at the end of upcoming interviews with non-Black and non-indigenous guests.

I hope that these interviews give you solace, and inspire you to share your creativity and magic with the world. We need women’s voices, now more than ever.

Check out the new season trailer! It’s now available on ApplePodcasts, Spotify and wherever you get your podcasts. Search and subscribe to “HEROINE.”

The first interview will drop next Thursday, and we will continue releasing every Thursday until September. I will definitely have little bonus episodes sprinkled in-between too. :)
